Nic Lupfer has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2007. In 2007, they worked as a Composition Artist at the Fort Bend Herald. In 2008, they were a Support Services Technician at K2Share LLC, where they provided customer assistance and technical support for government customers. From 2009 to 2012, they were an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the Interface Ecology Lab, where they designed and developed new features and functionality for a Java application. In 2019, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the Data Analytics at Texas A&M (DATA) Lab. In 2018, they were a Research Intern at Microsoft. In 2010, they were an Associate Consultant at Improving Enterprises. In 2020, they co-founded br8krm. From 2016 to 2021, they were a Co-Founder at Gumboot Studio, where they were part of the Elevate 2020 GDC Relief Fund Indie Developer Accelerator Program and made it to the Top 20 GMTK Jam 2019. Currently, they are a Senior Engineer at Mapware, where they focus on the web app for viewing and interacting with 2D maps and 3D models.
Nic Lupfer obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Business Minor from Texas A&M University between 2006 and 2010. Nic then went on to receive a Master of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University between 2010 and 2014. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Texas A&M University between 2015 and 2020.
