Walter Johnsen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in venture creation and energy policy research. As a Senior Associate at Marble since February 2024, Walter focuses on full stack venture creation, encompassing sector scoping to pre-seed investment. Previously, Walter served as a Research Assistant at the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy from January 2022 to December 2023, where responsibilities included calculating energy efficiencies and communicating findings to policymakers. Walter's academic journey culminated in a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on copper-catalyzed CO2 reduction. Additional experience includes a Department of Energy SCGSR Fellowship at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and advisory roles in green technology initiatives. Walter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Cornell University.
