Luke Simurda

Luke Simurda has a diverse background in research and analytics within the real estate industry. Luke is currently serving as the Director of Research for Canada at Marcus & Millichap since June 2022. Prior to this, Luke worked at Cresa as a Senior Associate in Research & Analytics from December 2021 to June 2022. In this role, they were responsible for analyzing and synthesizing research findings, producing valuation reports, preparing market reports, creating studies and white papers, and assisting with workplace strategies.

Before joining Cresa, Luke worked at CoStar Group where they held multiple roles. Luke served as a Research Manager for the Toronto market from January 2021 to December 2021, where they conducted comprehensive research on commercial real estate sales transactions and supported appraiser/investor clients with determining market value using various valuation methods. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Advisor for National Investment Comparables from September 2020 to January 2021, and as a Portfolio Research Associate for the Toronto market from November 2019 to September 2020.

Luke's career in real estate research began at Cresa in May 2018 as an Associate in Finance & Research, where they gained foundational experience in the industry.

Luke Simurda has a Master's Degree in Business Economics from the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. Luke also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics from Queen's University. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Trinity College School (TCS).
