Marea Art Project is a program of artistic residencies, a curatorial platform, and a research center founded in 2021 on the Amalfi Coast by art historian Imma Tralli, and cultural manager Roberto Pontecorvo. 

The project took shape in dialogue with Stefano Collicelli Cagol, General Director of Centro Pecci for Contemporary Art Center in Prato, and in collaboration with Carol LeWitt, President of the Board of Yale University Art Gallery. 

Starting in Southern Italy, Marea Art Project weaves and reactivates feminist, queer, and decolonial knowledge to restore space, resonance, and centrality to memories and practices spanning the Mediterranean.

In 2025, Marea was listed among the best Italian artist residencies at Art Basel and among the best independent spaces at the Flash Art Italia Awards.
