Gerry Sutton is an experienced researcher and project coordinator at MaREI, leading European projects such as SATURN under H2020 and the JONAS project under Atlantic Area Interreg, focusing on ocean noise management and its effects on marine species. Since joining MaREI in January 2016, Gerry has also served as a Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator, contributing to MaREI’s mission within the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine research. Previously, Gerry held roles at University College Cork (UCC) since 1998, including Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Coastal and Marine Research Centre, where significant contributions to marine spatial planning and environmental impact assessment were made. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Irish Marine Aggregate Resources from UCC and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and Zoology from Bangor University.
