Ómar Gústafsson

Ómar Gústafsson is a specialist at Marel since January 2018, focusing on the development of chemical lean measurement technology in meat utilizing the SensorX dual energy X-ray platform. Prior to this role, Ómar worked as an R&D Scientist at deCODE genetics from January 2014 to December 2017 and held the position of Research Scientist at ORF genetics from December 2011 to January 2014, where responsibilities included formulation development for new cosmetic products and method development. Ómar's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Microtechnology from the Technical University of Denmark, along with an M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from relevant institutions. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral position at Oslo University Hospital focusing on genetic analysis in psychiatric disorders and prior roles in research focusing on genetic analysis and copy number variants in CNS disorders.
