Marga Institute, founded in 1972 under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka, is an independent non-profit Center for Development Studies. Over the years we have undertaken extensive and ongoing multidisciplinary research and studies relevant to development. Primarily focused on research, Marga Institute critically examines past and present development processes in Sri Lanka. Its current socio-economic studies are supplemented by disseminating findings through education and training, publications, and Civil Society Forum discussions.
