Mechanical Engineer at MarineLabs

Michael Darling has a diverse range of work experience. Michael founded Darling Manufacturing in 2018, a mechanical design and fabrication company specializing in product design, consultation, prototyping, CAD services, and CNC machining. In this role, they led various design projects, from aluminum power boats to high-fashion homeware.

Prior to that, Michael worked as an Engineering and Assets Project Coordinator at the District of Tofino from 2021 to 2022. Here, they managed and assisted with municipal projects, implemented an asset management framework, and reviewed engineering drawings and specifications.

Michael also gained experience as a Cooperative Education Student at Wavelength Electric LTD. in 2017, where they assisted with commercial and residential electrical projects, putting their academic knowledge into practice.

Before that, in 2016, Michael worked as a Cooperative Education Student at Board Medic, where they learned about product creation and efficient production in a competitive industry.

Michael Darling attended Lord Byng Secondary School from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Following that, from 2014 to 2018, they enrolled at the University of Victoria and completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
