Marintel began where most maritime technology endeavors do - inside the ship itself. We started building systems designed to bring operational order to vessels running on disconnected spreadsheets, paper logs, and legacy software. That work put us inside shipping companies, sitting with brokers, crews, port managers, and fleet operators.

We learned quickly that the data problem was only the surface issue. The deeper problem was trust - or specifically, the absence of any independent layer that could tell operators, owners, banks, and counterparties what was actually true about a vessel they were running, financing, or transacting on.

That insight led us to our second chapter: an AI-powered maritime risk intelligence platform. We built a compliance and risk detection layer - tracking regulatory documents, charter agreements, insurance policies, and incident data - and translating them into actionable risk scores backed by human-in-the-loop professional oversight. The platform worked. But it pointed us toward something larger.

The maritime industry runs on documents. Hundreds of them per deal. Tens of thousands across a vessel's life. Shipbuilding contracts, classification certificates, mortgage instruments, bills of sale, protocols of delivery. Each one carries legal weight. Each one is supposed to be the truth. And almost none of them live in a system designed to verify, validate, or connect them.

When a tanker changes hands, there is no intelligent data room for that transaction. No system of record holding the documents, validating them against each other, advancing the deal through its phases, writing to a verifiable ownership ledger, and producing signed proof at close. Just emails, ad-hoc data rooms, and broker spreadsheets.

This is the gap Marintel Co is now built to close.

We are building the system of record for maritime asset ownership, acquisition, build, sale and purchase.
