Michaela Buchanan

Michaela Buchanan is a Senior Data Scientist at Mark III Systems since July 2020, focusing on LLM training techniques and optimizations while providing educational resources for researchers. Prior experience includes serving as the Lead Computational Undergraduate at the Center for Genomic Research and Biocomputing from June 2017 to June 2020, where Michaela managed projects to improve scientific computing cluster usability and developed a command-line pipeline for plankton image classification using neural networks. Michaela also contributed as a DJ at KBVR-FM, hosted two radio shows, and led the science team for the OSU Mars Rover Team, presenting findings at the University Rover Challenge. Michaela's background includes an undergraduate research assistant role at Freitag Laboratory and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University, completed in 2020.
