Brian Mellen

Brian Mellen has extensive experience in the field of videography and editing. Brian started their career in 2009 as a Videographer/Video Editor for Edgar Gabriel's StringFusion. Brian then worked as a Digital Cinema Tutor at DePaul University from 2008 to 2010, providing one-on-one software training to over five hundred students and resolving software issues. Brian also worked as a Freelance Editor and edited Certified Public Accountant review videos for DePaul University.

In 2015, Brian became a Lecturer at Flashpoint Chicago, where they specialized in teaching post-production classes and introductory editing courses. Brian also taught a joint cinematography/editing course with cinematographer John Otterbacher. Additionally, Brian worked as a Videographer for Turning Point Cinema, capturing wedding ceremonies and receptions under high-pressure situations and editing full-length wedding package videos.

Brian joined Fulton Grace Realty in 2016 as a Videographer/Editor, creating video content related to real estate. Brian later joined MarketScale as a Director of Photography in 2018.

In 2019, Brian briefly worked as a Videographer/Editor for OAK Orthopedics. Brian then joined the Mass Teleportation Authority as a Film Editor, working on a short film about scientists attempting to teleport a person.

In 2020, Brian worked as a Director and Video Editor for FriesenPress, Inc., overseeing video production projects. Brian'srole included directing and editing videos.

Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated their expertise in various software programs such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Studio, and Avid. Brian is also highly regarded for their teaching abilities and consistently receives high ratings for the quality of their teaching.

Brian Mellen pursued their undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Broadcast Journalism. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2014, Brian attended DePaul University, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Digital Cinema.
