Dr. Peter Cain has extensive work experience in advanced econometric modelling, statistical analysis, and marketing investments. Dr. Peter is currently the Executive Partner and co-founder of Marketscience, where they are responsible for business development, client relationship building, project management, econometric analysis, team building, marketing analytics training, and thought leadership. Prior to this, Dr. Cain was the MD and Founder of Marketscience Consulting, where they performed similar roles and activities from 2012 to 2019.

Before founding their own consultancies, Dr. Cain served as the SVP Head of Science and Innovation EMEA and Global Accounts at MarketShare, where they led analytics and innovation for blue-chip clients. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as the VP - Econometrics at Millward Brown Optimor, where they introduced dynamic state space modelling into marketing mix analysis and implemented improved techniques for evaluating the return on marketing investments.

Dr. Cain's earlier experience includes working as an Advanced Analytical Consultant at AC Nielsen, a Senior Development Consultant at IRI, and an Economist at Boots. Dr. Peter also held academic positions as a Lecturer in econometrics at Manchester Metropolitan University, a Lecturer in comparative banking at Loughborough University, and a Tutorial Assistant and Researcher in Economics at the University of Nottingham, where they completed their PhD in Monetary Economics and applied econometrics. Overall, Dr. Cain has a strong background in econometrics and has contributed extensively to thought leadership and academic papers in the field of marketing analytics.

Dr. Peter Cain pursued their education in economics from the University of Warwick and the University of Nottingham. Dr. Peter completed their Bachelor of Science (Bsc) and Master of Science (Msc) degrees at the University of Warwick between 1985 and 1989. Later, they enrolled at the University of Nottingham, where they obtained their Doctorate (PhD) in Economics from 1994 to 1998.
