Gary Kardys has had a long and varied career in engineering. Gary began their career in 1983 as a Project Engineer at Dynamet Technology. Gary then moved on to General Electric in 1985 as a Development Engineer. In 1988, they took a role as a Research Engineer at Saint-Gobain Abrasives. In 1996, they became an Associate at ECG Consulting Group, where they profiled leading competitors and evaluated investment opportunities. Later that year, they became the Director of the Center for Technology Skills Training and an Adjunct Instructor at Hudson Valley Community College. In 2000, they joined GlobalSpec, Inc. as a Senior Engineer, where they developed, analyzed, and managed industrial technology taxonomy and researched technology to develop content for their internet based engineering component database. In 2013, they became a Principal Engineer at IHS Markit, where they were a Subject Matter Expert for ESDU aerospace engineering methods and developed the Engineering Product Insight (EPI) dataset product. Finally, in 2021 they joined Marktech Optoelectronics, Inc. as a Business Development Manager.
Gary Kardys obtained a Master of Science in Metallurgy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1988, following a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the same institution in 1983.
