Markus is rethinking how we assess English and Maths with real pedagogy, smart AI, and a deep understanding of what actually matters in Further Education.

Built by teachers, developers, and creatives who work in the sector, Markus focuses on what makes the biggest difference: giving learners instant, actionable feedback on handwritten, GCSE-style work. Whether it’s a diagnostic, a self-assessment, or a mock paper, Markus delivers human-level insight, instantly.

And it’s not just about saving time (though it does reduce marking by 95%). Markus is about solving the real problems teachers face every day - the pressure of marking, the lack of meaningful feedback, and the challenge of tracking real progress. It’s designed to work where it counts: in actual classrooms, with real learners.

Using rule-based AI and large language models, Markus:

Marks handwritten answers just like a teacher would (only faster).
Gives clear, real-time feedback learners can use straight away, with 68% improving on their second try.
Supports smarter planning, with data teachers can actually use.
Tools include:

Initial Assessment: Quickly place learners with no prior qualifications.
Starting Point Assessment: Diagnostic tools personalised by learner interest.

Self Assessment: Upload, mark, improve - all in one lesson.

Standardisation: Align marking, train Markus on your standards, and spot development needs.

At its heart, Markus is about lighting the fire in learners, helping them see what’s possible, feel motivated to improve, and take ownership of their progress. It’s feedback with purpose, designed by people who know what good learning looks like.

We’re not here to impress investors with flashy dashboards. We’re here to give teachers what they need - and students the feedback they deserve.
