Eric Jan Bakker has extensive experience in the maritime industry, with a focus on sales and business development. Eric Jan worked for Marlink as the VP Energy & Passenger, Maritime, responsible for business growth in specialized maritime segments. Eric Jan also served as the Vice President Sales Asia Pacific (VP Sales), Maritime, continuing profitable business growth in the Asia Pacific market. Prior to Marlink, Bakker worked for Airbus Defence and Space as the Head of Sales Asia Pacific, Maritime, where they grew and managed the company's maritime business throughout the Asia Pacific region. Before that, they held various roles at Vizada, including VP Sales Asia Pacific and Sales Director Government & NGO, where they consolidated, transformed, and grew the company's operations in Asia Pacific and managed global sales to government and institutional accounts. Bakker also has experience working as a Business Development Manager at G4S and as a Sales Manager Maritime at Xantic / Station12, where they promoted mobile satellite connectivity services and solutions to the maritime market.

Eric Jan Bakker attended MTS Roermond from 1988 to 1992, where they studied Electronics. Following this, they enrolled at Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1992 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Commercial & Electronics.
