Sr. Process Engineer, Breakthrough Technology

Amy DeJong, Ph.D., is a Senior Process Engineer specializing in Breakthrough Technology at Mars since June 2018, with prior roles as Scientist in Product Discovery & Application and Food Structure Scientist. Before joining Mars, Amy gained valuable experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2013 to June 2018, focusing on analytical techniques in food science and mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers. In addition to academic research, Amy served as President of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) - Student Association from September 2014 to August 2017, where leadership included overseeing strategic initiatives and engaging with international IFT events. Earlier career experiences include internships at Wrigley and FONA International, alongside training as a sensory panelist at the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research. Amy holds a Ph.D. and a BS in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
