David Allaway

David Allaway is currently a Workstream Leader for Biomarkers at Waltham Petcare Science Institute (Mars Science & Diagnostics). They previously held roles as a Senior Research Scientist at Mars, where they conducted research on metabolite fingerprint characterization and inflammation models in companion animals, as well as research in cocoa at Mars Chocolate. David also served as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Reading, focusing on the Rhizobium-legume symbiosis, and was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at University College Cork, researching sensor regulators in Rhizobium meliloti. They began their academic career with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology from Oxford Brookes University and have experience as a Higher Scientific Officer and Temporary Lecturer.
