Maria Newman

Maria Newman is a Senior Vice President and Client Development Leader with over 25 years of experience in the insurance broking industry. They began their career as an Accountant and Junior Broker at Professional Insurance Consultants from 2000 to 2007, followed by roles at BJS Insurance Group as an Account Manager and Compliance Officer from 2007 to 2010. Maria has held several significant positions, including Managing Principal and Vice President at Marsh & McLennan Companies, where they advised ASX 200 clients, and currently leads the Resiliency Solutions strategy at Gallagher. They joined Marsh in 2025 as a Senior Vice President and continue to advance their extensive expertise in risk management and client development. Maria holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Finance from Griffith University, an MBA in Finance and Corporate Governance from Queensland University of Technology, and a Diploma in Financial Services from the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
