We furnish living spaces and transform them into warm and comfortable homes for individuals who have aged out of the foster care system while also connecting them to individuals and programs through our partner organization, Valley Youth House, to help them continue to succeed.

Our process is simple: people donate goods that they no longer use, friends drop off goods that pile up in closets, and we use these pieces to transform an empty space into a bedroom, a kitchen, a workspace: a home. 

Founder Mel McDaniel began Marvin's Home as a way to address the need for waste reduction in interior design practices. 

During the redecoration process, it is common for clients to discard their pre-loved furniture along with new items that may have arrived slightly damaged or in the wrong color or configuration. 

Mel’s philosophy has always been to “gather where there is plenty and give where there is none” — and so was the beginning of Marvin's Home.
