The overall mission statement of Maryland Masti is to plan, organize, and execute an intercollegiate dance competition hosted annually at the University of Maryland, College Park. We strive to raise cultural awareness through an event that displays the traditional folk dance of the Gujarati people of Gujarat, India. Our show and efforts allow our spectators to immerse themselves in this traditional dance culture of India, bringing together students, dancers, administrators, and audiences alike from across the country. Most importantly, we invoke in our spectators and the local community an appreciation of traditional Indian heritage and promote cultural diversity on campus. Maryland Masti is a 501(c)(3) organization and classified as a Public Charity. Maryland Masti has a proven track record for being one of the most anticipated and highly valued competitions across the nation, and in its 16th iteration (this year), the executive team hopes to continue this trend and continue making a powerful impact in people’s lives.
