Vice President Of Engineering, Optical Sciences at Masimo

Vikrant Sharma, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Vikrant currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering, Optical Sciences at Masimo since July 2020, where they previously served as the Director of Engineering, Adv. Sensors R&D from July 2018 to June 2020. Prior to these roles, they were a Senior Manager in Advanced Sensors R&D at Masimo from February 2018 to July 2018.

Before joining Masimo, Vikrant worked at Masimo from July 2014 to July 2016 as a Senior Algorithm Engineer, and from July 2013 to June 2014 as an Advanced Algorithm Engineer. Vikrant first joined Masimo in September 2012 as an Algorithm Engineer.

Vikrant started their career as a PhD Candidate at UT Arlington/UT Southwestern Medical Center from January 2010 to August 2012. Vikrant also gained valuable experience as a Research and Development Engineer at International Techlink Group Corp. from March 2008 to April 2011, where they were involved in designing and developing prototype equipment, refining algorithms for tissue oxygenation, and conducting experiments for testing and validation.

Prior to that, Vikrant worked as a Research Associate at Baylor Health Care System (Baylor Research Institute) from October 2005 to February 2008. During this time, they worked on an NIH-supported grant focused on hemodynamic imaging of brain tumor prognosis. Vikrant was responsible for protocol design, cell culture, animal surgery, experimental design, optical data collection, and analysis. Vikrant also utilized functional MRI and near-infrared spectroscopy for multimodality brain imaging.

Vikrant's early career includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington, as well as an Assistant Engineer at P.D. Hinduja National Hospital from November 2001 to July 2003, where they gained experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing medical equipment.

Vikrant started their professional journey as an Inplant Trainee at Wipro GE Medical Systems in 2000. Overall, they bring a wealth of experience and expertise in research, development, engineering, and medical equipment maintenance.

Vikrant Sharma, Ph.D. holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington & The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, obtained from 2003 to 2005. Vikrant also completed their Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, from 1997 to 2001.
