Ryan Boehm

Director, Communications & Media Relations at MassBio

As Director of Communications and Media Relations, Ryan helps to the tell the stories of MassBio as an organization, MassBio’s incredible member companies, and the global leadership of the Massachusetts’ life sciences ecosystem.

For more than 20 years, Ryan has held various communications roles in state government, non-profit organizations, and political campaigns. Most recently, Ryan served as Communications Director at the Executive Office of Housing & Economic Development, where he executed integrated communications supporting historic zoning reform, emergency housing assistance, and two comprehensive economic development bills. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ryan was a member of the team that worked with the state’s Reopening Advisory Board to develop the plan to reopen the Massachusetts economy, an effort that was recognized with the Manuel Carballo Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service. Previously, Ryan spent four years in Governor Charlie Baker’s Press Office, where his responsibilities expanded from crafting the voice of the governor and lieutenant governor on social media to preparing talking points, drafting press releases, and writing speeches.

Earlier in his career, Ryan served as principal advisor and deputy to the Bishop of the Anglican Church in New England for communications and public relations, and served in leadership roles at Swiftkurrent Strategies, a nationally recognized digital marketing agency.

Ryan has a B.S. in Government and M.S.P.S. in Political Communication from Suffolk University, and lives on the North Shore with his wife and son.
