Kent Werner

Kent Werner serves as the Vice Chair for Research in the Neurology Department and holds the position of Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University since July 2017. Concurrently, Kent is an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where responsibilities include teaching and research. Kent is a co-founder and CEO of Cogentis Therapeutics, dedicated to developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. Kent's medical training includes a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and completion of an MD PhD in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Kent has extensive teaching experience, having instructed in physics and chemistry, and has also served as a staff neurologist for the US Navy and in various roles at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Kent has been recognized as a winner at MassChallenge and was a finalist at Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable.
