Michael Smith

Michael Smith, CISSP-ISSEP, CISM, currently serves as Field CTO at DigiCert, where responsibilities include integrating strategy with engineering, product management, and security operations. At DigiCert, Michael focuses on enhancing capabilities in areas such as cyber threat intelligence, authoritative DNS, DDoS mitigation, and web security. In addition to this role, Michael contributes as a content creator and cybercrime advisor at SecuritySync and GreyScout, respectively, and is involved with various organizations, including .406 Ventures and MassChallenge, as a mentor for startups in cybersecurity and IT. Michael also teaches cybersecurity topics in an adjunct instructor role at ThriveDX and has previously founded and led Rising Tide Cybersecurity Management. Educational backgrounds include a BS in Liberal Studies from Excelsior University and an advanced DoD Certificate in the Russian Language from the Defense Language Institute.
