Mary Pederson

SVP, Human Resources at MassDevelopment

Mary joined MassDevelopment in 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Mary and her team are responsible for shepherding culture, training and development, policies, protocols, and programs related to work, along with the key pieces of ensuring people are paid accurately and timely, and they are offered benefits that support their work & life. Previously Mary was the Vice President of HR for CAPA: The Global Education Network-a company providing study abroad programs in five countries for American colleges and universities; the Director of Human Resources for the Belmont Public Schools-a PreK-12 public school district with six schools, 4,000 students, nearly 700 employees and five collective bargaining units. Prior to in-house positions, Mary worked in consulting with companies of varying sizes from 3M to a small venture capital firm and everything in-between. She holds a master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons University and a certificate in human resources from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
