Brian Powers

Brian Powers is the Lead Counsel for State and Local Tax at MassMutual, where they provide tax advice related to controversies, mergers and acquisitions, credits, and legislative updates. They previously held the position of Assistant Director of State and Local Tax at The Hartford and served as a Multistate Tax Manager at Deloitte Tax LLP. Brian began their career as a Tax Attorney at the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services, where they contributed to legislative proposals and managed the corporation business tax implementation process. They hold a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Loyola College in Maryland.
