Mark Scanlon

Mark Scanlon serves as the Head of Capital & Investment Risk at MassMutual since June 2019, previously holding the position of Head of Capital Risk. Prior to MassMutual, Mark Scanlon was a Director in the Client Portfolio Solutions group at BlackRock from February 2014 to May 2019, where responsibilities included leading insurance investment strategies and portfolio construction for insurers. Mark Scanlon has extensive experience from Towers Watson, advising senior insurance executives on enterprise risk and capital management, and leading risk management initiatives for the North American life industry from March 2005 to February 2014. Earlier career highlights include roles as Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Consultant at Towers Perrin, along with work as a Corporate Actuary at Swiss Re from July 1998 to June 2002. Mark Scanlon holds a B.Bus.Sc degree in Economics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science from the University of Cape Town, obtained from 1993 to 1996.
