Tim Ligay

Tim Ligay, CPA, has a diverse background in tax management, with significant experience in state and local taxation. Tim began a career in tax consulting at Alvarez & Marsal from January 2006 to December 2010, followed by positions at KPMG as a Federal Tax specialist from January 2011 to January 2013, and at Federman, Lally, and Remis in a tax role from January 2013 to March 2014. Tim then transitioned to Aetna, continuing in a tax capacity until August 2018, before serving as Assistant Director of State and Local Tax at The Hartford from August 2018 to May 2022. Currently, Tim holds the position of Director, State and Local Tax at MassMutual since May 2022, overseeing various tax types and statutory filings. Tim is academically grounded, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Decision Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from the University of Hartford, and a Master’s in Accounting from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
