Maila Bourisk has worked in various roles in the marketing and communications industry since 2008. Maila began their career as a Coach for the National Cheerleaders Association in 2008, followed by an Internship as a Script Reader for Daniel L. Paulson Productions in 2012. In 2013, they worked as a Communications Manager for Addicted To Yoga, and in 2014 they were an Associate Digital Content Manager for That Jean Shop. From 2016 to 2019, Maila worked for Beautycounter as a Social Media Manager and Social Media Coordinator. During this time, they developed and implemented the voice of Customer Service on various social media platforms, averaging 100+ responses per day. Maila also assisted with creation, conception, and presentation of social media strategy and integrated marketing campaigns for social media channels with 400K+ total followers. In 2019, Maila was a Social Media and Influencer Manager for Jaanuu and also worked as a Marketing Strategy Consultant - Social Impact, leading strategy and implementation for various clients using paid and organic social media in the profit and nonprofit sectors. Currently, they are the Director of Social Media + Content for MATE the Label.
Maila Bourisk received their Master of Business Administration - MBA from American Jewish University in 2020, with a focus in Social Enterprise and Social Impact. Maila obtained their Comparative Literature degree from the University of California, Riverside in 2013, studying English and Spanish Language and Literature/Letters.
