Emma Porter

Clinical Midwifery Consultant

Emma Porter is a Clinical Consultant specializing in research at the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth. They began their career as a Registered Nurse at Queensland Health from 2008 to 2009 and continued their journey in maternal health at Mater from 2011 to 2014, where they also served as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and Clinical Midwifery Consultant. Emma held various roles including Co-Chair of the Perinatal Mortality & Morbidity Panel at Mater Mothers Hospital and Perinatal Loss Midwife. Their recent experience includes a Research Midwife position at Stillbirth CRE from 2023 to 2025. Emma holds a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing and a Postgraduate Degree in Nurse Midwifery from James Cook University, as well as a Diploma of Education in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors.
