Richael Young is a Senior Director for the Water for the Future Program at Sustainable Conservation since January 2024, focusing on strategies for secure water access in California amid changing climate conditions. Additionally, Richael serves as an Advisor at Matereal, promoting the decarbonization of the chemicals industry, particularly through the introduction of the innovative biobased product, Polaris. Previous experience includes a role as Senior Economist at ERA Economics, where Richael developed the "Open Water Trade" algorithm, and as Founder and CEO of Mammoth Water, acquired by ERA Economics. Richael has also held positions with the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute, various research roles at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and NOAA, and a consultancy position with the Community College League of California. Richael holds multiple degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, including a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Agricultural and Applied Economics, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
