Elizabeth Gilligan

Elizabeth Gilligan has worked in various roles since 2015. Elizabeth began their career as a Materials Researcher at Foster + Partners in 2015, where they learned the importance of materials in design and worked on many high-profile projects. In 2016, they joined Queen's University Belfast as a Thesis Co-Supervisor for Environmental and Structural Engineering, Research Assistant, and Visiting Design Tutor. In 2019, they began an R&D Fellowship at Google & Xl Construction. Most recently, in 2020, they were appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Material Evolution.

Elizabeth Gilligan completed a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Plymouth in 2014. Elizabeth then went on to pursue postgraduate studies at Queen's University Belfast, obtaining a postgraduate certificate in Design Thinking in 2018 and a postgraduate certificate in Innovation from Trinity College Dublin & Queen's University Belfast in 2018. Elizabeth also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture from Queen's University Belfast in 2020.
