Melanie Crowson

Melanie Crowson currently serves as the Center Director at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, focusing on tutoring, curriculum adjustments, and communication with instructors and parents. As an Ambassador for the American Association of Variable Star Observers since July 2019, Melanie advocates for space science, particularly variable stars, and works to promote accessibility in astronomy. Melanie's prior roles include Astronomer and Education Director at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, Math and Science Tutor at TutorMe, and leadership positions in the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) organization. With extensive experience as a Planetarium Presenter at the Museum of Science and Industry, Melanie has engaged diverse audiences by presenting astronomical information and fostering enthusiasm for space exploration. Academically, Melanie holds a Master of Science in Astronomy and a Bachelor's degree in Space Studies, Astronomy, Aeronautics, and Planetary Science from American Public University.
