Tom Peters

Mathematics Instructor

Tom Peters is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in engineering, software development, and education. Beginning as a Nuclear Engineer at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Tom focused on radiological emergency planning for nuclear submarines. Moving on to Exergetic Systems, Tom utilized Fortran to develop algorithms for calculating thermal efficiencies in power plants. As an Environmental Engineer at Tetra Tech EM Inc., Tom investigated contamination and devised cleanup strategies for naval installations, while also overseeing Superfund sites for the EPA. Tom further honed software skills during an extended tenure at Pinnacol Assurance, where application development and data integration were key responsibilities. Most recently, Tom served as a Mathematics Instructor at Mathnasium, fostering math education for K-12 students, and briefly taught middle school math through the Denver Fellows program. Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Denver.
