Nico Jimenez has a diverse work experience starting in 2008 as a Software Engineer in the Doyle Group at UC Santa Barbara, where they worked on the Artificial Pancreas System for Type I diabetes. Nico then moved on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011, working on bioinformatics research and developing a novel method for clustering variability. In 2012, they joined Johns Hopkins University to conduct machine learning research and developed fast algorithms for video recognition. In 2013, Nico founded Bus Catchers, a comparative bus shopping website, and later joined Stanford University as a PhD student, specializing in deep learning. Nico then worked as a Deep Learning Scientist at 4Catalyzer in 2015 before founding Mathpix in 2016.
Nico Jimenez earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Stanford University, where they studied from 2013 to 2018. Prior to this, they completed a Master's Degree in Computational Mathematics at the same institution in the year 2014. Nico also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Physics and Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University, although the specific start and end years for this degree are not provided.
