David Henning has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David worked as a School Improvement Consultant for Maths Pathway in 2019. Prior to that, they were a Presenter for South Melbourne Football Club since 2008. David also served as an On Air Host for FNR - FOOTBALL NATION RADIO from 2018 to 2019. David gained experience as a Trainer and Interviewer as well as a Private Tutor for Tutoring for Excellence from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, David worked as a Ferderal election reporter for Crikey.com.au in 2016. David started their career as a Teacher at Viewbank College in 2008, where they remained until 2015.

David Henning began their education at Monash University in 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Secondary Education and Teaching, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, History and Political Studies. David completed their Bachelor of Education degree in 2007.

In 2016, David Henning attended RMIT University and completed a Graduate Diploma in Journalism. David returned to RMIT University in 2018, where they obtained a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies.
