Ben Jones

Ben Jones is a Principal Software Engineer at MathWorks, where they have been employed since 2012. Previously, Ben was a postdoctoral associate in the EPLEX group at the University of Central Florida, focusing on the evolutionary complexity of nervous systems in models of simple animals. They obtained a PhD from the University of Birmingham, where their thesis explored the evolutionary emergence of neural organization in primitive organisms. Ben has a broad range of research interests, particularly in neural networks, evolutionary computation, and machine learning, and has published several peer-reviewed papers in these fields.
