Joel Berg is a Principal Technical Consultant at The MathWorks, where they focus on building expertise within the customer base utilizing the MathWorks tool chain. Previously, Joel served as a Senior Principal Controls Engineer at SustainX, Inc., developing control system design tools for isothermal compressed air energy storage systems. An aerospace engineer in the US Air Force, Joel has also held engineering roles at McDonnell Douglas, Gamma-Metrics, and Creare, Inc., working on diverse projects from stress analysis of aircraft fuselages to developing advanced control systems. They are currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, alongside holding MS and BS degrees in Engineering Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
