John Glass

John Glass is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience at MathWorks since February 2001, currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering. In this role, John oversees teams responsible for developing MATLAB Desktop features, including the toolstrip, desktop framework, Live Editor, code editor, Add-Ons, Help system, Community Applications, and file management tools, for both desktop and browser-based applications. John's prior positions at MathWorks include Director of Engineering and Senior Manager, where similar responsibilities were undertaken, focusing on MATLAB Desktop features. Earlier in John's career, roles encompassed various management and development positions, including Manager of Control and Identification Toolbox Development and Software Developer for Simulink Control Design. John holds a PhD, MSME, and BSME in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where research was conducted during graduate studies from 1996 to 2001.
