Nicolas Vivaldi

Nicolas Vivaldi, PhD, is a Senior Training Engineer at MathWorks since October 2019, specializing in delivering training on MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, along with courses on machine, deep, and reinforcement learning. Previously, Nicolas served as an ORISE Fellow at the FDA, focusing on AI and data science for identifying biomarkers related to mild traumatic brain injury. Nicolas's early career included roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where research involved control systems in robotics applied to human balance recovery, and teaching engineering students MATLAB programming. Earlier experience includes an ORISE Research Participant position at the FDA and a Research Assistant role at AFrame Digital, Inc., where the focus was on developing tools for analyzing data related to patient activities using MATLAB. Nicolas holds a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a BS in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from The George Washington University.
