Pia Owens

Pia Owens is a Boston-based technology and data privacy lawyer currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at The MathWorks, where they provide counsel on data privacy and cybersecurity, as well as draft and negotiate commercial agreements. They previously held the position of Assistant General Counsel with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where they worked on complex IT projects and developed state policies on technology procurement. Before transitioning to law, Pia was a software engineer at IBM and Classroom Connect, contributing to web-based messaging tools and online learning platforms. Pia holds a JD from Harvard Law School and is pursuing both a BA and an MS in Computer Science from Brown University and Harvard University, respectively. Additionally, they have contributed to the community as President of the Watertown Community Foundation and Vice President of the Mosesian Center for the Arts.
