Richard Thompson

Richard Thompson is a Principal Software Engineer at The MathWorks since September 2001, specializing in enhancing AUTOSAR ARXML workflows and expanding AUTOSAR composition and basic-software modeling support in Simulink. Previously, Richard served as a Senior Software Engineer, where responsibilities included leading the development of AUTOSAR support within Simulink and managing ARXML import/export and round-trip workflows for AUTOSAR versions 2.1 and 3. Prior experience also includes a role as Project Engineer, focusing on embedded systems consultancy in areas such as control design, non-linear estimation, computer vision, physical modeling, and code generation for real-time embedded systems. Richard's academic background includes a DPhil in Robotics and an MEng in Engineering and Computing Science, both from the University of Oxford.
