Simone Cimolato

Engineer in Engineering Development Group

Simone Cimolato is an aerospace engineer with extensive experience in mission analysis, flight dynamics, machine learning, and propulsion systems. At Skyward Experimental Rocketry, Simone developed MATLAB programs for simulating rocket performance and optimized aerodynamic calculations. As a Machine Learning Research Assistant at USC Viterbi School of Engineering, Simone fine-tuned a multimodal AI model for educational purposes and conducted research on lunar regolith contamination as a Graduate Research Assistant. Simone served as a VC Tech Analyst at Moonstone Venture Capital, focusing on early-stage tech and aerospace startups, and contributed to the development of a test stand for liquid propulsion systems at USC's Liquid Propulsion Laboratory. Currently, Simone works as an engineer in the Engineering Development Group at MathWorks. Simone holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Southern California.
