Mathew D.

Mathew D. has had a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Mathew currently holds the position of Principal Software Engineer at Matillion since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director at DELONGSOFT LTD since November 2015.

Mathew also worked at Turnitin as a Principal Software Engineer from July 2017 to January 2022. Mathew was responsible for backend development, working on high-traffic optimization and data collection. Mathew collaborated with multiple teams, utilizing Java and Spring to develop APIs and a scalable rule engine.

Before joining Turnitin, Mathew worked at Whitbread as a Senior Software Developer from September 2015 to June 2017. In this role, they integrated external hardware and services for smart hotel rooms, developed server code in Java for Premier Inn hotel room bookings, and utilized Spring Boot, Docker, and Netflix libraries to create scalable microservices hosted in Amazon.

Mathew also has experience as a Senior Software Engineer at VisualDNA from March 2013 to August 2015. During their time there, they worked on backend development, developed APIs with Java and Spring, and built a highly scalable rule engine for content delivery.

Prior to VisualDNA, Mathew held the position of Senior Software Developer at marketingQED Limited from March 2012 to February 2013. In this role, they led a team in creating the latest version of the company's flagship product, worked on genetic algorithms for marketing data modeling, and implemented programming best-practices and Agile software development.

Earlier in their career, Mathew worked at CodeGear - Embarcadero Technologies as a Senior Software Developer. From September 2009 to January 2012, they primarily worked in Delphi server-side and also worked with JavaScript, Java, and C#. During this time, they integrated with cloud platforms, designed and implemented client-server features, and developed APIs for the RAD Studio IDE. From September 2005 to August 2009, Mathew held the role of Software Developer at the same company, where they worked on data migration, developed Eclipse plugins, and mentored developers and QA.

Mathew's career began as a Software Developer at Acadia University in June 2005. Here, they built a Java-based integrated educational environment and worked under the principles of extreme programming in a small team.

Mathew D. attended Acadia University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. In terms of additional certifications, they completed "Learning React.js" from LinkedIn in November 2021, and obtained the "Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I)" certification from Scrum.org in June 2016.
