Sydney Laywell is currently an undergraduate Chemistry major at Johns Hopkins University, minoring in Space Science & Engineering. Sydney's research encompasses quantum materials and aerospace applications, including work with the APEX team at NREL on high-temperature semiconductor substrates and modeling astrophysical dust. Previously, Sydney served as a laboratory assistant at the Genetic Resources Core Facility and worked as a pharmacy technician. Sydney also mentors high school students as an Online Facilitator for the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science program.
