André Bernard is the CEO and co-founder of matriq. André was previously the head of institute MNT at NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik Buchs, where they delivered contracted research and service to the industry in the field of microsystems, micro- and nanotechnology, photonics, packaging, technology, polymerics, and analytics. André is also a member of the board at Nano-Cluster Bodensee and was previously the owner and CEO of indigon gmbh. Prior to that, they were a senior scientist and group leader at LifeBits AG and a postdoc at IBM Research.

André Bernard studied at the University of Zurich, earning a NDS in corporate management, a PhD in biochemistry/biophysics/surface science, and a dipl.sc.nat in biochemistry/immunology. André also studied at ETH Zürich, earning a degree in electrical engineering. André's secondary school education was at Kantonsschule Hohe Promenade, where they studied Latin and English.
