James Batten

Junior Science Coordinator at Matrix Education

James Batten, PhD, is an accomplished science educator with extensive experience in teaching and educational leadership. Currently serving as a Science Teacher at Pymble Ladies' College since April 2024, James teaches Stage 4 and 5 Science and Stage 6 Chemistry, while also engaging in resource preparation and assessment feedback. At Matrix Education since October 2017, James has taught senior chemistry students and coordinated Junior Science programs across multiple campuses, managing a team of teachers and overseeing curriculum resources. James's background includes laboratory demonstration roles at the University of Sydney and private tutoring, coupled with a strong academic foundation, earning a PhD in Medicinal Organic Chemistry and a Master's degree in Secondary Education. Additionally, James has experience in football as a referee and coaching technical specialist.
