David Orieji

David Orieji has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. David started their career as a Process Engineering Intern at Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Plc in 2017, where they reviewed refinery facilities and worked on implementing recommendations for improvement.

In 2019, David worked as an Application Engineering Intern at Kuva Systems, where they performed methane emissions calculations and participated in trialing technology for methane detection. David also traveled to different sites to investigate operational designs and gather data.

From 2020 to 2021, David worked as an Air Emission Analyst at Process Ecology Inc, where they set up emission reporting systems, worked on emission reduction projects, and reviewed provincial and federal regulations.

In 2021, David joined Vertex Resource Group Ltd as an Intermediate Emissions Scientist, where they managed data for leak detection and repair programs and conducted regulatory reporting. David also worked as a Fugitive Emission Inspector at Lineriders, conducting inspections for fugitive emissions.

In 2022, David joined Matrix Solutions Inc as an Air Quality Scientist, and they are currently in this role. Prior to this, they also held the position of Managing Director at Mojisons Ltd in 2021, where they dealt with pre-owned heavy equipment and provided freight and transportation services.

Additionally, David is the CEO and Founder of Young Talented Fellows - YOUTAF since 2018. In this role, they empower underrepresented youths through education and social activities, connects them with mentors, and provides educational support through scholarships and incentive programs.

David Orieji began their education in 2014 at the Université des Sciences et de la Technologie 'Houari Boumediène', where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering in 2017. From 2019 to 2021, they attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Petroleum Technology in Petroleum Engineering. In 2022, David pursued further education at AGA ACADEMY, earning a Diploma in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Human Resource Management. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at Royal Roads University from 2023 to 2025 and obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Practice.

In addition to their formal education, David Orieji also acquired several certifications. In September 2019, they completed the H2S Alive training from Titan Health & Safety Calgary. David also obtained a Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certificate from the Canadian Red Cross during the same month. In March 2020, David obtained certifications in Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). In December 2019, they completed a course on Learning Excel: Data-Analysis through LinkedIn. Furthermore, in April 2022, David became an Environmental Professional in Training (EPt) through ECO Canada. Additionally, they hold a Certificate of Membership from the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society International, although the specific acquisition date is unavailable.
