Daniel Zhu

Daniel Zhu has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Daniel is currently working as the VP of Product for Data, Analytics, and AI/ML at MatrixCare since February 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice President of Product at BASE10 Genetics from May 2022 to February 2023, where they previously worked as a Senior Product Manager from January 2022 to June 2022. Daniel also worked as a Co-Founder at Metaplx from June 2016 to August 2021.

In addition, Daniel has experience in the healthcare sector, having worked as a Data Consultant at Bond Brand Loyalty from October 2020 to February 2022. Daniel served as the Director of Engineering Services and a Technical Success Manager at Swift Medical from April 2019 to October 2020 and January 2019 to April 2019, respectively.

Daniel also has a background in academic research, having worked as a Virology Researcher at the University of Toronto from September 2015 to January 2018 and as a Molecular Epidemiology Researcher at the University of Alberta from June 2014 to June 2015. Prior to their research positions, they worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Alberta Health Services from June 2013 to June 2014.

Before entering the healthcare and research fields, Daniel worked as a Quality Control Microbiologist at Mountain Dog Food from December 2010 to June 2013. In this role, they implemented reporting and processing systems that reduced contamination incident days by 75%.

Daniel Zhu attended the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2010, where they studied Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology. Daniel then pursued their undergraduate studies from 2010 to 2015 at the University of Alberta, specializing in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science/Research and Allied Professions. Finally, they returned to the University of Toronto from 2015 to 2018 to focus on Virology.
