From the beginning, we at Matter set out to make a viable alternative to traditional and degradable plastic. We had two goals – sustainability and performance. The products needed to fully compost in a short period of time, and they needed to be a high-performance alternative to traditional plastic. And we successfully did just that, with our launch at retail in 2021. 

We at Matter believe in enhancing, not endangering. All Matter products are certified 100% compostable, non-toxic and, if composted properly, return natural plant-based nutrients back into the earth as they compost in 12 months or less. The result? Nutrient rich, healthy soil. From nature, back to nature. 

We also take pride in bringing to market high-quality products that are manufactured with the health of the earth in mind. Our products are not made from trees, and instead crop waste is re-used during the manufacturing process. How it's made truly matters. We at Matter also focus on eco-smart production. We use less power, for more impact. Creating Matter products uses far less energy to convert sustainable raw materials into products compared to conventional manufacturing, all contributing to a smaller carbon footprint throughout product lifecycles. 

Matter products are made using proprietary and internationally certified technologies. As part of our sustainable process, plants are converted into a strong biopolymer that has the beneficial attributes of traditional plastic, but our finished products fully compost in just a matter of months.

The end product? Household products made from plants that are durable, sustainable, and certified compostable.
